Job Overview:
The Group Sales Manager successfully manages the group sales effort in their designated markets, including developing new accounts, maintaining existing accounts, implementation of sales strategies so as to achieve all goals and maximize profits for the hotel while maintaining customer satisfaction.

Reports to:
Director of Sales and Marketing

Job Requirements:
-Previous sales experience
-Hotel/Resort experience highly desirable
-Four-year College degree
-Computer knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook. Previous experience with Opera and ACT! Preferred
-Knowledge of travel industry, current market trends and economic factors
-Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment and with the public
- Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guests, co-workers and management to their understanding
- Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision

Compensation:
Annual salary plus quarterly bonus is commensurate with experience and is based on a 40-hour minimum work week with overtime-exempt status

Front Desk Agent
Department: Front Desk
Status: Part time

Job Description:
The Guest Service Agent is responsible for checking in and checking out of all hotel guests. This person must have good organization and communication skills as well as superior guest service abilities. This is a fast paced position that will involve cash handling, answering telephones, providing local information to guests, etc. The position we are looking for is part time or full time. Hotel or customer service experience preferred.

Duties:
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Varied shifts; must be flexible.
- Performs front desk duties such as check-ins/check-outs, making reservations, answering phones and assisting guests.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Multitasking strengths.
- Professional appearance and ability to work with people a must
- Excellent command of English language.
- Must be friendly.
- Some cash-handling experience is preferred but not necessary.
 
Pool and Public Attendant
We are looking for a detail-oriented person who is well organized, professional, friendly, and a team player for our Pool Attendant openings. Our pool is one of the premier assets of our hotel. It is elevated with an ocean view. The pool is heated and is next to a Jacuzzi and fire pit. There is a fountain that falls around the pool. There is pool service and activities almost everyday.

Some Duties:
• Greet and seat all guests
• Deliver a high level of service by providing towels, magazines, food and drinks, etc.
• Maintain aesthetics of the pool
• Make sure pool area is neat, clean, and alerting the maintenance department of safety hazards.
• Help assist and direct food servers
• Works cooperatively with other in a team effort.
• Knows and implements standards of service for casual dining consistently.
• Knows and enforces pool rules.
• Communicates pleasantly and courteously with guests, management, and co-workers.
• Knows layout of pool, restaurant and all equipment and supplies.

This is a part time position, with mostly weekend hours. Appliers must be available to work weekends and all holidays.
 
Maintenance Worker
Job Description:
The maintenance worker is responsible for upkeep of all exterior areas of property on a daily basis and makes repairs on hotel equipment as assigned by the Chief Engineer.

Specific Responsibilities:
Daily cleaning of the pool and Spa and general maintenance issues.
Trash pick up.
Minor guest room repair.
Inspect hotel grounds daily for cleanliness issues.
Plumbing repairs.
Painting as requested by Chief Engineer.
Carpet and vinyl repair.
Make repairs to hotel equipment as requested by Chief Engineer.
Basic carpentry.
Keep hotel guest rooms and equipment in best possible condition.
Performs all assigned side work duties regularly, promptly and correctly.
Complies fully and consistently with all the hotel conditions of employment and standards of uniform, grooming, and personal hygiene.
Complies promptly with special requests of management.
Knows layout hotel grounds and all equipment and supplies.
Reports any problems to supervisor.
Communicates pleasantly and courteously with guests, management, and co-workers.
Attends and reports on time for all meetings and training sessions scheduled by management.
Works cooperatively with other in a team effort.
May perform other work related duties as requested by manager.

Spa/Gift Shop Agent
A  spa/gift shop agent is responsible for greeting all guests that come to the Spa and assisting them with booking spa treatments and/or answering any questions concerning the Spa environment. Is responsible for checking in appointments and selling of retail. This person should also be interested in the Spa aspects of the job. Some qualifications needed are excellent communication skills, retail experience, extremely strong telephone etiquette skills, and knowledge of computers. The Spa/Gift Shop agent should also be able to establish positive relations with all individuals who approach the reception desk, to promote Spa products and services, to handle multiple guests, booking requests, and telephone lines simultaneously while maintaining the highest level of customer service.
   
Reservation Agent
We are looking for professional, friendly people who are team players for our Reservation Agent opening. Location: Pismo Beach.

Duties:
Answer incoming phone calls to the hotel, greeting each caller in an upbeat friendly manner and transferring to the appropriate department.

Make reservations in Opera our property management system. Answer guest's questions in a professional manner and follow set reservation guidelines.

Qualifications:
Outstanding customer service is very important, reliable transportation, multi-tasking skills, and great computer and phone skills, knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and excellent command of the English language. Must also be comfortable sitting for extended periods of time.

Must have flexible hours, weekends and holidays a must. Full and part time positions available
 
Restaurant and Bar Server

Position Summary:
The Cliffs Resort is looking to hire experienced Servers for our high volume lounge and restaurant. The Restaurant and Bar Servers are responsible for seeing to every guest's experience in the Marisol Restaurant and Bar, going beyond satisfaction, and ensuring a complete fine dining experience.

Essential Functions of the job:
• To be the person directly responsible for delivery of service to guests after seating
• To warmly welcome guests with-in 1-2 minutes after seating
• To take, place, deliver and serve food and beverage orders
• To ensure quality of ingredients, preparation, presentation, and correct temperature of food served to guests
• To ensure time standards are met
• To employ appropriate selling skills in suggestions of food and beverage
• To demonstrate an attitude of friendly hospitality in every aspect of service
• Communicates pleasantly and courteously with guests, management and co-workers
• Comply fully and consistently with all the hotel and restaurant conditions of employment and standards of uniform, grooming,

Bell Person
Department: Bell Services
Status: Part time

Duties:
- Loads and unloads luggage carts and vehicles as needed.
- Opens and closes vehicle doors for arriving guests.
- Remains posted at the front door at all times.
- Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends based on occupancy
- Issues valet parking tickets.
- Ascertain and use guests name as frequently as possible and introduce the guest by name to front office staff.
- Makes manager aware of any guest's comments or complaints.
- Performs any other job related task as directed by management.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be able to run for extended periods of time.
- Multitasking strengths.
